If you are visiting Wellfleet and do not have a valid Wellfleet Transfer Station Sticker there are still ways to get rid of your basic items. (Note: We can only accept waste that was generated within the Town of Wellfleet.)

The Recycling Plaza (Highligted Green on the Entrance Guide) may be accessed by paying a $10 entrance fee to the Gate Attendant located in the green scalehouse building as you come up the hill. (Highlighted Yellow on the Entrance Guide)

RECYCLING PLAZA CLOSES AT 3:30 EVERYDAY.

If you do not have a valid Transfer Station Sticker and you have Trash (Garbage) to dispose of, there will be a $10.00 Gate Fee upon entering. (Cash or check ONLY)

Additionally, if you do not have your Trash in Official Purple Wellfleet "Pay As You Throw" (PAYT) bags, there will be a $5.00 charge per bag. (Bags can only be up to 35 gallons)

PAYT bags can be obtained at The Wellfleet Marketplace, Midcape Homecenter (Wellfleet), Stop & Shop (Orleans and Provincetown) and Shaw’s (Orleans).

PAYT bags cannot be purchased at the Transfer Station.

ALL OTHER AREAS OF THE TRANSFER STATION REQUIRE A VALID STICKER TO USE.
