Wellfleet Selectboard

The Wellfleet Selectboard will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. located at the Wellfleet Adult Community Center (ACC), 715 Old King's Highway, Wellfleet, MA 02667.  Remote participation will be available by Zoom and telephone as provided below, in compliance with 940 CMR 29.10 and the Town's Remote Participation Policy. If technological problems interrupt remote participation, the meeting may be suspended or ended at the discretion of the Chair in consultation with the Board.

Selectboard meetings are broadcast live on Comcast cable (Wellfleet Government TV Channel 18) and are recorded.  Recordings of meetings are available at wellfleet-ma.gov

Note: Any individual may record the meeting, but must first notify the Chair, and may not interfere with the meeting to record it. See M.G.L. c. 30A, s. 20(f).

     I.  Announcements and Public Comments 

  • Note: Public comments are limited to no more than three minutes per speaker. The Board will not deliberate or vote on any matter raised solely during Announcements & Public Comments.

     II.  Consent Agenda ~ No comments will be taken on this agenda item

  • Use of town hall lawn, Paige Adair, to set up a table and sell handmade shell necklaces. 12pm – 4pm on dates specified in the application.
  • Renewal of Common Victualler License – Copper Swan 70 Main Street
  • Appointment of Lauren McKean as a voting member to the Energy & Climate Action Committee for a term of three years.
  • Appointment of Brent Schimke as a voting member to the Historical Commission for a term of three years.
  • Use of Town Property ~ Wellfleet Chamber of Commerce ~ Town Hall Lawn for a sign to promote “Wellfleet’s First”
  • Use of town Property ~ Wellfleet Chamber of Commerce ~ Various Streets of Wellfleet for the Annual 4th of July Parade

     III.  Appointment of Registrars ~ No comments will be taken on this agenda item.

  • The board will appoint two interim board of registrars so there can be a town election recount. ~ Town Clerk

     IV.  Public Hearings ~ Public Comments are always accepted during public hearings.

  • Application received on 4/16/2026 for the transfer of shellfish grant license #s 95-17/18 consisting of approximately two acres on Egg Island from Michael Seiser (Wellfleet, MA), Krista Lee (Wellfleet, MA) and Will Barrio (Wellfleet, MA) to Will Barrio
  • EVERSOURCE ENERGY requests permission to locate and relocate poles, wires, cables and fixtures, including the necessary sustaining and protecting fixtures, to be owned and used in common by your petitioners, along and across the following public way or ways:    Pamet Point Road One (1) new FO pole 1A/10-5
  • NSTAR ELECTRIC COMPANY (d/b/a Eversource Energy) requests permission to locate underground cables, conduits, manholes, including the necessary sustaining and protecting fixtures, in, under, along and across the following public way or ways:  Wilson Avenue To install 28’ +/- of 1-3” of conduit and one (1) new handhole 68/H11-A

  • Kai Potter to use Town Hall Fence behind town hall to hang artwork ~ More details in the selectboard packet.

  • Herring River Restoration Project ~ Approval of the DER Grant Amendment ~ No Comments will be taken on this item
  • Energy and Climate Action to present to the board the Decarbonization Findings. ~ No Comments will be taken on this item
  • Recycling Policy ~ Jay Norton, Mass DEP has required the town to update its recycling policy the board will vote to recommend the new policy put before them. ~ Public Comments will be taken at the chair’s discretion
  • Winter Snow & Ice Operations Policy Discussion ~ Jay Norton ~ Public comments will be taken at the chair’s discretion
  • Approval of the Wellfleet Oyster Alliance Ice Machine Grant ~ Nancy Civetta ~ No public Comments will be taken on this agenda item
