February 7, 2018

Present: Barbara Austin (chair), John Duane, James O’Connell, Zack Dixon

Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM

1. Minutes

   John Duane made a motion to approve the minutes from February 07, 2018. Barbara Austin seconded. Motion passed 6-0.         

   2. Shellfish Department update

   Nancy Civetta reported on the Shellfish Dept. activity.

   3. Letter Writing

   John Duane brought up the necessity of writing and sending letters on issues that were discussed at SAB before the next meeting.

   Zack Dixon made a motion to authorize John Duane to draft and send letters on behalf of the SAB that are time sensitive and have not yet been discussed in detail. Barbara Austin seconded. The motion passed 4-0.

   4. Beach Clean-up

   Scheduled for Feb 20

   5. Shellfish Management Plan

   Make a separate meeting for the Plan

   6. Herring River Meeting Date

   Barbara Brennessel informed SAB of the Shellfish Monitoring and Adaptive Management for the HRRP Forum on March 5, from 3-4:30 at Preservation Hall

   Next meeting topics: overwintering agreement, the charter as related to how the Shellfish Warden is appointed, revolving fund

   Next meeting is March 12, 2018.
