-Case for Restoration slide presentation -John Portnoy and John Riehl

-Question by Ork Ruggles regarding flow of groundwater-

Scott Michaud of the Cape Cod Commission indicated that there is generally higher groundwater flow coming from the surrounding hills that each have a micro lense.

-Question by Ork Ruggles regarding what happens if adverse signals or “danger” is observed.

John Riehl indicated that the duck bill would be placed back on and the trial would terminate.

- Concerns about Tight tank becoming inundated and foundation damage.

No indication that the restoration will rise water levels to that extent, Selectmen would not give permission if structures are to be effected.

-Question by Gene Schaefer regarding the timing of the trial. Concerns about tenants moving in for the summer.  John Riehl indicated that there was not a particular reason given to start the trial in June.

-Question by Bill Walker regarding a high tide storm events effects on Mayo Creek.

John Portnoy referred to the modeling done by Woods Hole Group indicating that the Marsh would act almost like a separate water body with the culvert limiting the effects of a storm surge.  Choking effect of pipe will limit tide heights.

-Question By Denny O’connell regarding the high water line within Mayo Creek.

-The Mayo Creek Committee would be visually inspecting the creek to observe the high tide line.

-Concern By Mike Parlante regarding animals currently dwelling within the Creek, and their ability to relocate as the Creek is restored.

- Question By Maria Hollis regarding the highest high tide heights and if the trial will capture those heights.

-Validation of the model will allow data points to be compared to the actual and predicted water levels allowing an accurate prediction of what harbor tide heights effect on Mayo Creek tide heights will be.
