Welcome, Introductions and Announcements
Note: WHC members may visit project sites and view the exterior of each property during the week before
each monthly meeting. As we make decisions about proposals, we refer to the Secretary of the Interior’s
Standards for Rehabilitation.
1) 130 School Street (c. 1820): This building is located within Wellfleet Center’s National
Register District. (Review opinion from Sarah Korjeff re: CCC Review). Proposal to 1)
replace the existing cedar shingle and asphalt roof with a uniform synthetic cedar shake
roof in the color Canyon Gray made by Brava. Sample tiles are located at 130 School
Street for review; 2) repair and fortify the center chimney to existing specifications using
S & H red brick; 3) install brick risers/steps for all exterior doors in lieu of the wooden
and concrete steps previously there; 4) light all entrances with lights found in Figure 2
and Figure 4 on proposal.
2) Report re: Mead-Fox’s presentation to the Selectboard at1/24/23 meeting with regard
to amending Wellfleet’s Demolition Delay Bylaw and Defining Partial Demolition/
Substantial Destruction. Discussion of possible amendments to submit by 2/15/23 (Mead-
Fox/McAuliffe)
3) Progress on presentations: 1). “Love Letter to Cape Cod” film at Preservation Hall on
2/4/23, and 2). Webinar on “Historical Preservation and Climate Change” in April, 2023.
4). Recruitment of new WHC Member, ideally contractor/builder
5). New Website v. Update of WHC page on Town website (Baker, McAuliffe, and
Kornetsky)
