Discussion: When can the Board meet in person and not via Zoom

Discussion of suggestions made by Laura Gazzano as set forth below:

·         Winter music series (January, February, March) – hold a one-hour concert put on by local musicians. Schedule these concerts at different times to attract younger, working seniors. Perhaps one in the evening on a Saturday or Friday night.  If it is safe to do this, perhaps this could also be a dessert pot-luck. (Denya would be a good resource on cost and also musicians. Steve Greenberg has some ideas on musicians too.)

·         Offer an informational talk. There were lots of suggestions given on the survey of things of interest.  I sent Suzanne and Terri the contact information for James Kershner, who teaches Mindfulness classes (his topic was one of the many suggested).  I attached the scan of information

·         Perhaps Suzanne could write a grant to the Community Preservation Committee (or any other grant that would be applicable) to help fund the walking path on the ACC grounds. If we wait for town funding it could take decades for this to happen. A walking path would be a big draw for folks to visit the ACC.  This was talked about at a meeting last spring and perhaps Suzanne has already done this. This was another popular item on the survey.

·         Small group technology update

·         New signs for the ACC. I think the town has a sign shop that could make a couple of signs to replace old ones (Cahoon Hollow Rd & Rte 6, Cahoon Hollow Rd & Old County Rd.  and I think there is another one on Old County Rd. & Rte 6). Suzanne probably knows about the sign shop and can help get this going.

·         Highlight a new local artist in the “Great Pond Art Gallery”. Perhaps an artist’s reception (informal meet and greet the artist) could take place late in the afternoon to attract working seniors.

·         I was thinking about the $10 fee for the Tai Chi (probably all exercises classes??) and was wondering if there could be a sliding scale or a scholarship program for anyone who couldn’t afford the fee but would like to participate??
