Pursuant to Section 5 of the Cape Cod Commission’s (Commission) Enabling Regulations Governing Review of Developments of Regional Impact, the Commission’s Committee on Planning and Regulation will conduct a public meeting on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. in the Harborview Conference Room, 3195 Main Street, Barnstable, MA 02630 to consider whether to approve a Development of Regional Impact (DRI) Scoping Decision, which contains the proposed scope of DRI review as recommended by the Commission’s Executive Director.
Project Name: Herring River Restoration Project- Phase 1
Project Applicant: Town of Wellfleet
Project Location: Herring River estuary system within the Towns of Wellfleet and Truro (including land
in the Cape Cod National Seashore)
Project Description: Phase 1 proposes to restore and re-introduce tidal exchange to approximately 570 acres of coastal wetlands and includes construction and operation of various new or replacement water control structures; vegetation and other resource management activities; and actions to avoid, manage or mitigate potential effects on public and private properties.
