Minutes of Meeting February 26, 2014

Present: Peter Hall, Chair; Elaine McIlroy, Jan Plaue, Deirdre Poole, Geraldine Ramer, Janet Reinhart, Gary Sorkin, Trudy Vermehren

Regrets: Donald Thimas

 

Chair Peter Hall called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

 

Minutes

Gary Sorkin moved to recommend the minutes of January 29, 2014.  Geraldine Ramer seconded, and the motion carried 7-0. 

 

Warrant Recommendations

The Committee had received the draft Warrant* with the CPC Articles included.  The Article lettering will be replaced by numbers in the final Town Meeting Warrant.  Jan Plaue asked that the advocates be informed that they are the presenters of the projects to Town Meeting.  Members also agreed a little review at Town Meeting of how CPA funding works would be appropriate. 

 

Article BK - Percentages

Plaue move to recommend Article BK for CPA Percentages. Reinhart seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

Article BL - Housing Rental Assistance Program

McIlroy move to recommend Article BL for the Housing Rental Assistance Program.  Vermehren seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

Article BM - Housing Affordable Accessory Dwelling Units

Plaue move to recommend Article BM for Housing Affordable Accessory Dwelling Units.  Vermehren seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

Article BN - Town Records Storage System

Plaue move to recommend Article BN for the Town Records Storage System.  Reinhart seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

Article BO - Historical Society & Museum Archives

Reinhart move to recommend Article BO for the Historical Society & Museum Archives.  Poole seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

 

 

Article BP - Duck Creek Cemetery Historic Restoration

Vermehren move to recommend Article BP for the Duck Creek Cemetery Historic Restoration.  McIlroy seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

Article BQ - Weidlinger House Historic Restoration

Reinhart moved to recommend Article BQ for the Weidlinger House Historic Restoration.  Plaue seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

Article BR - Gull Pond Landing Recreation Area Restoration

Reinhart moved to recommend Article BR for the Gull Pond Landing Recreation Area Restoration. Ramer seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

Article BS - Rehabilitation of Baker’s Field Town Tennis Courts

Reinhart moved to recommend Article BS Rehabilitation of Baker’s Field Town Tennis Courts.  Poole seconded, and the motion carried 7-0-1.

 

Article BT – Sea-Babies Playground

Sorkin move to recommend Article BT for the Sea-Babies Playground.  Vermehren seconded, and the motion carried 8-0.

 

General Concerns

The Committee discussed the upswing in the number of projects coming before Town Meeting this year. 

 

Agenda for Next Meeting

Agenda for the April 30, 2014 meeting will include: recap of Town Meeting. 

 

Adjournment

Sorkin moved to adjourn.  Poole seconded. The motion carried 8-0.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:37 a.m.
