Plan to close out CPC grant through restoration work by John Fougere by June 30, 2023
1.Approved past meeting minutes January 11, 2023
2. Reviewed sale and status of Cemetery plots (Only sales since January 2023 have been in Pleasant hill, Section DEF).
3.David went to Pleasant Hill neighbor and temporarily repaired disassembled granite post and pipe fencing.
4.Reviewed policy that the Cemetery will not buy back previously purchased plots but will facilitate the resale if possible if someone else is interested. “Buy back” will be at original price and “new sale” will be at current market rate.
5.Spring 2023 Clean Up tasks
-Confirmed Saturday, May 6, 2023
-Nancy will publicize on website, contact churches
-Ditty and David will put up sign at fire station; meet with Richard R. this Sunday April 16, 12:30
-David will confirm with AmeriCorps

*look at poor drainage at entrance to previously-repaired Oakdale brick tomb vault
*look at pipe fencing on Oak Ave
*clear trash, debris, old ornaments,
*trim trees and shrubs
6. David presented a draft statement of “commissioner duties” for inclusion in the Cemetery Commission Policy and Procedures handbook. Discussed, voted on, and approved. Copy sent to Nancy Vail for inclusion in Handbook Manual.
7. David updated commission on his recent conversation regarding proposal by Wellfleet citizen to offer a workshop on historic preservation and repair of cemetery headstones and other monuments. We have interest from Provincetown (1-2); Truro (1); Wellfleet (1-2); Brewster (1). We will wait for citizen to follow up with us regarding potential date.
8. Revisited adding more 5x10 plots in DEF. Currently we still have eleven 5x10 plots available along West Rd . We deferred decision on creating more (we might potentially create three 5x10 plots in each #1 and #3.
9. Reviewed plan to close out CPC grant through restoration work by John Fougere and new signage for Pleasant Hill/Oakdale Cemeteries by June 30, 2023 (David will confer with John to complete three sample headstones; 1 Stabilize and straighten, 1 Reattach; 1 Clean surface;
for review and approval by Commissioners per previous understanding) and Bonnie will get sign before leaving the Commission.
