B. Austin called meeting to order at 7:02
Minutes - no discussion due to Z . Dixon being called out of town unexpectedly.
Menhaden - J. Duane reviewed new changes one topic. Meeting in Chatham June 19th
To update public. Reviewed state of Virginia actions.
Beach clean up - B. Austin reminded everyone the beach clean up date of May 12th.
Asked if anyone had a skiff that could be used that day.
Reappointments- May 22nd is date that BOA will be reviewing reappointments to SAB
Over Winter Agreement - N. Civetta reviewed agreement. Will make some minor revisions for next meeting. Will continue process in 2018.
Herring River Stake Holders - no discussion till next meeting.
Shellfish Department update - N. Civetta reviewed monthly report.
Quahog relay from Taunton River - N. Civetta reviewed the pro’s and con’s of the Quahog relay from Taunton river to the waters of Wellfleet.
B. Austin made motion to bring 250 bushels of Taunton Quahog’s to Chipman’s Cove for future transplant . B. Morse 2nd. Board voted 2 in favor, 3 against. Did not pass.
Cultching - N. Civetta reviewed cultching map for 2018. Goal is to cultch end of June.
Hats In Cove - N. Civetta discussed the conversation she had with the State shellfish department. They are looking for more scientific information on our late spawning points. She will continue to work with her team for the next steps.
Shellfish transfer at the pier - N. Civetta said we received a 3 year variance from state to allow shellfish transfer at pier during vibrio season.
