Minutes of April 7, 2015 Meeting:  Approved with corrections.

Chair, Nancy Rea:

WCT Clean-up day.  Scheduled for 5/7 details in an e-mail sent to membership.

Budget: Current balance of  $ 2546.

Standing assignments/ liaison reports.  Deferred for consideration of Old Business.

Old Business

Drummer Cove property.  The remainder of the meeting was taken up in detailed discussion of the failure of passage of the Town Meeting Article authorizing purchase of this property.  It did carry a simple majority but not the 2/3 majority required for a loan authorization.

We reviewed many of the things that were done right and others that will require more effort and perhaps a different approach when another similar issue comes up again. In general we agreed that more public education is important in areas such as the value of open space in our Town, the role of the CPA and what it means to taxpayers, that open space and affordable housing are not mutually exclusive.

Open Space Plan:  Needs review and final revision to be completed by the next OSC meeting. The full report to date is available on line. Members who need it will get instructions on using Dropbox.
