Wellfleet Historical Commission March 6, 2024 meeting agenda

 

In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 30A, Massachusetts General Laws, and Ch. 2 of the Acts of 2023. Notice is hereby filed that a meeting of the Wellfleet Historical Commission will be held on Wednesday, 3/06/2024 at 5:00 PM. 

Said meeting will be open to the public and the press virtually, as required by the provisions of the Open Meeting Law, to virtually attend through Zoom Video Conferencing

 Welcome, Introductions and Announcements

 

Note:  WHC members may visit project sites and view the exterior of each property during the week before each meeting.  As we make decisions about proposals, we refer to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.

 

1). 54 East Commercial Street (1875 Second Empire located in Wellfleet Center National Register District) Proposal to install 21 solar panels:  six on the mansard roof of the main building, and 15 on the building in  back.  (Presenter: Roger Dzel from Incite Solar;  Property Owner: Sarah Blackwell)

 

2). 206 Holbrook Avenue (1860 Greek Revival located in Wellfleet Center National Register District) Proposal to install 16 solar panels. (Presenter: My Generation Energy;  Property Owner: Martha Meader)

 

3). 1546 Baker Avenue (1850 Greek Revival located in Wellfleet Center National Register District) This is a revision to a proposal originally approved at the 5/17/23 WHC Meeting.  Current proposal to replace all of the windows of the house with 6/1 grilles, including all existing windows that have 6/6 grilles. (Presenter: Peter McDonald, Architect)

 

4). 55 Railroad Avenue (1876 Greek Revival National Register building located in Wellfleet Center National Register District, with a one-story outbuilding est. 1873-1880 according to this property’s MHC Form B (historic inventory)) Proposal to demolish the sunroom attached to this outbuilding and rebuild it in a larger footprint, adding a second floor.  (Presenter: Trevor Pontbriand;  Property Owner: Marianne Boswell)

 

5). 160 Paine Hollow Road (1850 Greek Revival National Register building) Proposal to install a ridge beam and add a new dormer and one additional window to the wing of the house facing Paine Hollow Rd that is referred to in historic documents as a summer kitchen. (Presenter and Property Owner: Yanko Sheiretov)

 

6). Discussion re: Sarah Korjeff presentation

 

7). Update of WHC page on Town website (McAuliffe and Kornetsky)

 

8). Rearranging Form Bs in library (Kornetsky, Mead-Fox)
