WELLFLEET HISTORICAL COMMISSION

The Wellfleet Historical Commission met on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in the Wellfleet Public Library.  The meeting was called to order by Lydia Vivante at 5 p.m.  Present:  Tom Siggia, Carol Ubriaco, Anne Freyss, Luke Manning, Co-Chairs Maria Burks and Lydia Vivante.  Also present:  Justin Post, Building Inspector, and Robert (Bud) Paine.

Nick Watkins was absent.

The first order of business was to welcome new member Luke Manning to the Commission.

Next, Bud Paine, owner of 215 Paine Hollow Road, laid out his preliminary plans for renovation of the Paine Hollow house.  He came before the Commission informally to get an idea of the restrictions that might be applicable since his property is historic and is also in the Paine Hollow Historic District.  No action was taken, although it was suggested that he contact Sarah Korjeff of the Cape Cod Commission for guidance.

The members who attended the September Workshop were eager to proclaim it a success!  Thanks to all who contributed — the turnout was excellent as well as the program.

Maria Burks then presented item 3 on the agenda regarding our application to the Community Preservation Committee for 2019, with is due October 15, 2018.  She moved to apply for $16,000 this year, Tom Siggia seconded the motion; all voted in favor.  Tom Siggia will write up the application and submit.  This sum includes $15,000 for additional Form B updates and $1,000 for another Community Workshop in 2019.

It was duly moved and seconded to approve the minutes from August.  All were in favor.

The meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Anne Freyss, Secretary
