Historical Commission Meeting Minutes

The Wellfleet Historical Commission met in the Wellfleet Library on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.  Present:  Co-Chairs Maria Burks and Lydia Vivante, Anne Freyss, Luke Manning and Carol Ubriaco.  Members Absent:  Tom Siggia and Nick Watkins.  Also present:  Jude Ahern, Dwight Estey, Pres. WHS, John Connors, VP WHS, Albert Grandin, Brian Hopkins and Brad Williams.  Maria Burks called the meeting to order at 5 pm.

 

  1.  Brian Hopkins of Augustus Construction outlined the plans for reconstruction of the mid-section of the Wellfleet Historical Society building, stating that roofing, windows and siding will be replaced in kind.  Selective window replacements approved as presented.  Addition of a new door approved previously.  Lydia Vivante moved and Luke Manning seconded the motion to approve as presented.  The vote was unanimous.
  2. 190 Holbrook window repair/replacement:  Luke Manning had a preliminary meeting with the window restorer in Orleans.  No action required at this meeting.
  3. The Commission discussed the needs assessment for the Local Comprehensive Plan.  No vote required.
  4. Burks shared the Town’s proposal of distribution of land.  The Commission has no issue with such.
  5. Burks offered a draft of the Annual Report for 2018.  The Commission agreed with a few minor edits.
  6. The Commission was updated on Community Preservation Committee projects 2018/2019.  No action required.
  7. Nothing new to report on possible National Register Districts on Pamet Point Rd. and Pine Point Rd.

 

It was duly moved, seconded and voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the WHC December 2018 meeting as read by the Secretary.

 

Carol Ubriaco made a motion to adjourn, Anne Freyss seconded the motion and all were in favor of adjournment at 6:37 pm.
