Wellfleet Finance Committee

Minutes of Meeting of October 22, 2014

Senior Center, 7:00 p.m.

Present: Stephen Polowczyk, Chair; Janet Loewenstein, Linda Pellegrino, Thomas Reinhart, Sylvia Smith, Ira Wood

Regrets: Sam Bradford, Robert Wallace, Liz Sorrell

Chair Stephen Polowczyk called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Minutes

Wood moved to approve the minutes of September 17, 2014.  Smith seconded, and the motion carried 6-0.

Mail

Town Administrator Harry Terkanian had sent an e-mail inquiry about FinCom Budget for Fiscal Year 2016.

Wood moved to approve the Finance Committee Budget of $275 for Fiscal Year 16.  Pellegrino seconded, and the motion carried 5-1.

Liaison Reports

Stephen Polowczyk reported on Personnel Board discussions on the ATA position.  Thomas Reinhart said that the Energy Committee had a good response to the Solarize Wellfleet program.  The Green Communities application will be submitted this fall, he said.  They are also working on an RFP for solar panels at the landfill.  Reinhart also reported on the School Committee’s meeting concerning MCAS results.  He also discussed the aging building at Nauset Regional High School. 

Agenda for Next Meeting

Agenda for the November 19, 2014 meeting will include: Shellfish Department Audit, Pre-School, Cash Control of All Departments, Shellfish Vehicle, Budget Policy, and Liaison Reports.

Adjournment

Wood moved to adjourn. Loewenstein seconded, and the motion carried 6-0. 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
