Minutes of Meeting January 24, 2018

Present: Chair Gary Sorkin, Andrew Freeman, Robert Jackson, Geraldine Ramer, Thomas Siggia

Regrets: Rhonda Fowler, Elaine McIlroy, Janis Plaue

Chair Gary Sorkin called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.

Minutes

Geraldine Ramer moved to approve the amended minutes of December 13, 2017.  Bob Jackson seconded, and the motion carried 5-0. 

Disposition of Town Own Land on Coles Neck Rd.

CPC members discussed the possibility for community housing on a portion of Town-owned land on Coles Neck Rd.  There are some issues that still need to be resolved surrounding slope, road access, water and DPW needs.  Tom Siggia said there might be other uses for the land. 

Andy Freeman voted to approve the disposition of a portion of Town-owned land on Coles Neck Rd. (Map 7, Parcel 24) to the Affordable Housing Authority.  Tom Siggia seconded, and the motion carried 5-0).

Annual Report

The Committee reviewed and revised the 2017 Annual Report.  Mary Rogers will forward the final copy to Executive Assistant Radu Luca.

Andy Freeman moved to approve the amended Annual Report.  Geraldine Ramer seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.

Warrant Articles

Committee members reviewed and made changes to the presentation of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant Articles for CPC.  The draft Articles will be given to Assistant Town Administrator Brian Carlson for inclusion in the Warrant.

Bob Jackson moved to approve the revised Warrant Articles.  Geraldine Ramer seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.

Coalition Dues 2018

Membership fees for the Community Preservation Coalition are now due.

Andy Freeman moved to approve paying dues in the amount of $1,750.00   to the Community Preservation Coalition for 2018 membership.  Tom Siggia seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.

Presentation to Finance Committee

Gary Sorkin said that the Finance Committee always likes to have the CPC proposals explained to them before they make their Warrant recommendations.  Mary Rogers wanted to know available dates for the Chair and anyone else who would be willing to attend the Finance Committee meeting.

Proposed Schedule for 2018

The Committee examined the proposed 2018 schedule of meetings.  CPC discussed renewing the effort to allow remote participation.  Gary Sorkin will approach the Town Administrator. 

Agenda for Next Meeting – March. 28, 2018

The March meeting will be for updates on projects.
