Commissioners Present: Chair Justina Carlson; Curt Felix; Catharie Nass; James Hood; Neil Gadwa

Others present: WhiteWater Operations Manager, Roy Maher

Chair Carlson called the meeting to order at 6:05 P.M.

Whitewater Update: Roy Maher, Operations Supervisor-Roy Maher presented a summary of the operations of the Wellfleet Municipal Water Supply. He reviewed the general operations and reported a town-wide leak. The Water Commissioners agreed to have a leak detector company come into Town as soon as possible.

Roy mentioned the Coles Neck low-income housing project, and that he spoke with Environmental Partners Group (EPG). EPG recommended a proper study and prepare a written document. The Commissioners would like to see the original renderings to start a “scope” and find out how much capacity in the system. Tabled to a future discussion.

Wastewater and Water Commission Warrant Article: Communication Strategy-The Board members discussed what will be scheduled for the March Forum: Dredging and new hire are two of the topics. Parking lot for White Crest Beach. Will be presenting the same slideshow as the Harbor conference.

Felix presented an outline for proposed new hire drafted by the Horsley-Witten Group, and the next step will be to present it to Town Administrator, Dan Hoort.

Discussion-Meeting with the Finance Committee

Hood discussed the revenues and expenses of the 2018 projected budgets for the Water Enterprise Fund. He distributed to the Board members a spreadsheet showing the actual expenses for FY 2015, FY 2016, and FY 2017. The report also showed the proposed budget  for FY 2019, FY 2020, and FY 2021. He continued to explain that the line items were increased 3% per year except WhiteWater’s contract. The Board members reviewed the information for the January 24th budget proposal with the Finance Committee.
