A Subcommittee of the Cape Cod Commission will conduct a public hearing on the following project Monday, March 9, 2020, 5:00P.M. at the Wellfleet Council on Aging building, 715 Old Kings Highway, Wellfleet, MA 02667. The project is undergoing Development of Regional Impact review pursuant to Sections 12 & 13 of the Cape Cod Commission Act, as amended:
Project: Herring River Restoration Project Phase 1
Project Applicant: Town of Wellfleet
Project Description: Phase I proposes to re-introduce tidal exchange to portions of the Herring River estuary system in the towns of Truro and Wellfleet for the purpose of restoring approximately 570 acres of coastal wetlands. Phase 1 includes, without limitation, the construction and operation of various new or replacement tidal control structures within the Town of Wellfleet.
