This is a tricky database to use. Enter any information that is not exactly as the database has it and you will come up empty. To avoid that, follow these instructions.

This link takes you directly to the state website MACRIS: http://mhc-macris.net/

  • On the opening page click at the bottom to begin.
  • On the next page click the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT at the bottom.
  • On the following page scroll down through the towns until you find Wellfleet.
    • Double click and it will appear in the list on the right.
      • Enter JUST your street address number where it says “Street No.”, not the name of your street.
      • DO NOT fill in any of the other blanks!
      • Click NEXT
    • On the next page double click on BUILDING
      • DO NOT fill in any of the other blanks!
      • Click NEXT
  • A listing of all the buildings that have your street number will appear in alphabetical order by street. Find yours!

*Note – not every building in town that is over 75 years old has an inventory form on MACRIS. If yours does not please let us know, as we are assembling a list of such buildings and have hired a preservation consultant to update the forms.*
