Conservation Volunteer

The unique and rich natural environment of Wellfleet is a large factor in what makes it such a special place. The town would like to create a network of passionate community volunteers interested in preserving, protecting, and enhancing the health and environment of Wellfleet and its residents.

 

Possible project areas for volunteers may include:

  • Land stewardship/trail maintenance
    • Habitat restoration, invasive species removal, trail pruning
  • Aquatic monitoring
    • Assist in water sampling and data collection from the town’s many ponds
  • Community events
    • Assist with special events throughout the year promoting health and the environment
  • Public Health Preparedness
    • Help setup and run an immunization clinic
  • Promote Disease Prevention
    • Lead a weekly walking group or participate in a group led exercise program
