Agenda

  1. Updates on recent burials and communication protocols with funeral homes, monument companies and the cemetery commission (enforcing, managing, and mediating plot, burial and monument rules and regulations; and any issues that arise).

 

  1. Discussed upcoming Saturday, May 12th , 9-Noon cemetery clean up at Oakdale/Pleasant Hill Cemeteries.

  2. Reviewed completed work clearing sections and work remaining to be done: adding more fill and grading and removal of leaves and branches.

     

    Nancy will contact John Fougere to return and do a final finish grading for recently cleared Sections D, E, F; provide more fill and grading, and hydro-seeding for new sections.

     

  3. David will do initial staking during course of the summer and then commission will review this work before next step of staking with 20x20 section, 3 foot aisles, (no aisle necessarily needed between edge of roads and plots) with gps buttons. Nancy will ask DPW for the measuring wheel and David will pick it up

     

  4. Began discussion about Town of Wellfleet cemetery plot rates and residency requirements in comparison to other Cape towns. We will poll all other Cape towns

     

  5. Nancy will contact DPW to request limited mowing at Duck Creek Cemetery (just in the wide passable areas and NO weed wacking between headstones). They may continue to mow as in the past at Oakdale/Pleasant Hill.

     

  6. Nancy talked with Bob Devaney and requested an invoice for all work completed to date by June 30. This should close out the funds from the first CPC 2014 grant. We will limit any further restoration at Duck Creek to no more than 3-5 monuments (and photo document, bag and bury the remaining ones); and monument stabilization at Oakdale/Pleasant Hill with the funds from the 2016 CPC grant.

  7. Bonnie requested a conversation regarding Board positions for the coming term. Nancy Vail has agreed to Chair the Board and David Agger will remain as Clerk for the coming term.

  8. Tabled further discussion and next steps for Green section
     

    Future business

   -look at Oakdale for available plots like north of Dinsmore to Middle Street and #144

   -Bonnie will work on draft for historical signage at Boudreau and Duck Creek Cemeteries
