Wellfleet Taxation Aid Committee

Minutes of Meeting October 20, 2016 at Town Hall

Called to order: 10:10 AM in upstairs Conference Room by Mr. Smith.

Attended: Susan Messina, Rosemary Moriarty, Dawn Rickman, Manuel Smith

Absent: Diane Galvin

Minutes of Meeting:  Motion by Ms. Rickman to accept minutes of July 13 as amended, seconded by Mr. Smith, passed 4-0-0. Secretary will submit copy for Town Clerk’s file.

Annual Town Report 2016: Mr. Smith will submit the year end TAF report in December.

Donations:  Ms. Moriarty reported current balance in the TAF account is $46,380.45.

No new donations. Expenses include $8,722.00 for 2017 Taxation Aid awards, and $156.00 for printing 3900 tax bill inserts. The 2017 tax bills were mailed out yesterday.

Inserts: Mr. Smith will consider making any changes to the insert for the next meeting.

Committee Calendar: Ms. Messina will update the annual calendar for the next meeting. Addition: “Submit draft insert to the Board of Selectmen whenever any changes are made by the TAF Committee.”

Application Forms: Discussion on whether there are any further changes to the form which might make it easier for applicants to complete. Mr. Smith will contact Linda Balch at the COA for any suggestions.

Next Meeting:  Thursday February 16 at 9:00 AM at Town Hall.

Adjourn:  Motion to adjourn at 11:00 AM by Ms. Rickman, seconded by Mr. Smith, 4-0-0.
