Wellfleet Town Hall Conference Room, 8:30AM

Marla Rice presented the public space recycling packet to the Committee.

Members prepared for June 11 appearance before the Board of Selectmen to discuss

public space recycling.

Discussed Dual Stream and co-mingled recycling and fact that residential recycling

pickups are optional. Also discussed requirement for recycling bins for take-out and

vending machine locations.

Discussed various grants available (RDP can be used for signage, bins, etc.)

Can't get SMRF space for public space recycling, it is a given at this point, grants are to

encourage new initiatives.

Members approved purchase of Rice's 'Keep Your Beach Beautiful' bookmark for

distribution at beach office.

Approx. $219 for 10,000 bookmarks

Members to research possible placement of littering sign with fine at the beaches.

Kari discussed Recycling Partnership, Beyond the Bin, MassDEP IQ Kit (free graphics).

Residential Food Waste Program - Barnstable, Dennis, Chatham, Mashpee have it.

Anaerobic digesters to process, but expensive and large.

Watts Family Farm, 3 towns (Barnstable, Dennis, Chatham)

Compost With Me, 1 town (Mashpee)

Minutes postponed to July meeting.
