LCPC Meeting Minutes

Members Present: ATA Brian Carlson, Chair, Janet Lesniak, Elaine McIlroy, Jan Morrissey, Mac Hay, Jennifer Wertkin

Members Absent: Suzanne Thomas, Paul Lindberg, Mary Beth Rodman, Martha Wilson, Jay Horowitz.

Others Present: 

Chair Carlson called the meeting to order at 2:33 PM.

No members of the general public were present.

Discussion of recommending an increase to the facilitation fee by $1,000

The Committee discussed the request to recommend an additional $1,000 to the facilitation fee for the Community Event to support the update to the Local Comprehensive Plan.  Jan Morrissey began the conversation and stated that she is representing the interests of the Planning Board on the Committee and conveyed that the Planning Board, in general, thought that the fee was too high.  Other Committee members commented in support of the increased fee and conveyed that the cost amortized over the length of the time until the next update is required does not amount to very much money per year.  The plan is typically updated every 5 years.  It was also expressed that the Community Event is very important in developing a comprehensive update and that a facilitator will bring value to the process.

The Committee also expressed the need to go through the budget process and seeks funds from Town Meeting to help with printing of the updated plan and its implementation.

Janet Lesniak made the motion and Mac Hay seconded that an additional $1,000 be recommend to be added to the fee for the Community Event facilitation. The motion carried 5-1-0.

Mac Hay moved to adjourn; Jan Morrissey seconded; the motion passed 5-0-0.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:45 PM.
