Members Present: Chair, Janet Loewenstein; Ira Wood; Vice Chair, Fred Magee; Robert Wallace; Jeff Tash; Linda Pellegrino; Kathy Granlund; Stephen Polowczyk

Chair Loewenstein called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

Minutes

Moved to approve the minutes of March 28, 2018 by Polowczyk. Seconded by Wood, and the motion carried, 7-0.

Correspondence: Nothing to note at this time.

Outstanding Warrant Article Recommendations

Article 6: Moved to approve by Wood. Seconded by Magee, and the motion carried, 7-0.

Article 7: Moved to approve by Wood. Seconded by Magee, and the motion carried, 7-0.

Addressing the Meeting

Chair Loewenstein restated from a previous meeting that she would like to have the Committee members step to the side to express any personal opinions or concerns not related to Finance Committee activities.

Outstanding Warrant Article Recommendations-(Continued)

The Committee continued the Outstanding Warrant Article Recommendations discussion.

Polowczyk moved to reconsider Article 28. Seconded by Wood. Polowczyk explained that the Personnel Board voted 3-1 not to recommend the funding of Article 28 because, 1) There is potential to find funding elsewhere, 2) there is no official plan submitted. Chair Loewenstein affirmed that she is still on board with the new hire proposal and funding. Granlund stated she would vote to reconsider Article 28.

The motion to reconsider the previous unanimous vote carried, 5-0-2.

Wood mentioned that it’s a lot of work to deal with as a volunteer Board, but feels that they can receive regional expertise from different entities. The Committee members discussed different methods and types of groups that can be utilized, like the Cape Cod Commission.

Moved to not recommend Article 28 by Polowczyk. Seconded by Wood, and the motion carried, 5-0-2.

Other Business: Tabled for a future discussion

The meeting adjourned by Consensus at 6:47 P.M.
