FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC

The Town of Wellfleet seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Firefighter/Paramedic or Firefighter/EMT.  Requirements include Massachusetts/National Registry Paramedic, or EMT certification, (Paramedic preferred) and training to a minimum of Firefighter I/II is highly preferred.  Applicant must also be able to pass a comprehensive physical examination, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Human Resources Division’s Physical Abilities Test.  After hiring, the candidate must also attend and pass the Massachusetts State Fire Academy Recruit Program.  An application package is available at the Wellfleet Fire Department, 10 Lawrence Road, Wellfleet, MA 02667, or from the “Employment” section at the Fire Department’s website (www.wellfleetfire.com). An eligibility list will be created for current and future position openings from this hiring process. SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT

 

LIFEGUARDS: Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have current American Red Cross certifications. Ocean front lifeguarding module a plus. All applicants will be required to participate in Surf/Rescue conducted by the Town of Wellfleet pre-season and successfully complete water skills and a Swim/Run. Five shifts per week from 9am to 5pm. Starting rate at $20/hour. Starting rate flexible depending on skill level and experience 6/22/2024 through Labor Day. Weekends required.

 

PARKING LOT ATTENDANTS:  Applicants aged 16 and over are needed to check Beach stickers as cars enter parking lots. Applicants must possess excellent customer service skills. Experience working with the public a plus. Applicants must be able to work outside in both hot, sunny conditions and chilly, windy conditions, tolerate hours of standing and have the ability to lift and move 30 pounds. Heavy public contact. Reliable transportation needed. Five shifts per week from 9am to 4pm. Part- time available. Starting at $17/hour. 6/22/2024 through Labor Day. Weekends required.

 

PARKING LOT SUPERVISORS:  Parking lot supervisors aged 21 and over needed to supervise staff at manned parking lots and to check stickers at unmanned lots. Applicants must be able to work outside in hot sunny conditions and chilly, windy conditions, and have the ability to lift and move 30 pounds. Heavy public contact. Reliable transportation a must. Mileage paid. Five shifts a week from 9am to 4pm. Starting at $20/hour. 6/22/2024 to Labor Day. Weekends required.

 

TENNIS MONITORResponsibilities include varied administrative duties at the Recreation Building located at Baker's Field including reserving tennis courts and registrations for all summer recreation programs. Qualified candidates must have excellent communication and accounting skills and be comfortable interacting with the public and promoting all Recreation portograms.  Employment is from June through October.  Hours of operation are 7 days per week from 8am-6pm during July and August. Must be available to work scheduled shifts based on scheduling. Reliable transportation a must.  Pay range $16-24 per hour.  Employment begins 6/17/24 through 10/25/2024.

 

SKATEPARK MONITOR:  Responsibilities include overseeing and managing the operations, activities, and events at Baker's Field. This position is responsibile for opening and closing the park on a daily basis, actively interacting with parent and students and performing routine inspections of the skate park, playground and surrounding areas to maintain cleanliness and safety.  Employment begins 5/27/2024. Must be 16 years of age or older. Pay range $15-22 per hour.  Employment begins 5/27/2024.

 

SWIMMING DIRECTOR:  Provides leadership responsibility for the Swimming Staff at the Wellfleet Recreation/Red Cross Gull Pond Swimming Program.  Ensures overall safety of program participants and staff. Pay range is $18-22 per hour. Employment begins 5/27/2024. 

 

MORNING RECREATION DIRECTORAssists Recreation Director in the overall program development and implementation, pre-camp orientation and training for staff and supervision of all day camp staff. Required to be on site during program hours and may be required to work before and after the camp season if needed. Ensures staff to child ratios, lesson plans and daily schedules are in place and being followed. Must be 21 years of age or older. Page range is $18-25 per hour.  Employment begins 5/27/2024.
